Unfold your own myth
Beautiful Soul,
“Don't be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others.
Unfold your own myth.”
― Rumi, The Essential Rumi
There are powerful questions alive in my heart.
Who am I ?, What am I doing here?, What is my unique offering to the world?
Who needs these gifts, that I have to share?
These are not new questions. Nor are they wholly unanswered. They are, however, questions that I intend to stay awake to. And as Rilke once encouraged, to be patient toward and to love as the questions themselves. I find it exciting and challenging and soul satisfying to remain in this state of questioning. And recently this was amplified for me as I worked to create a new website. And yes! It's finally live!
Fortunately, I had beautiful design assistance, and a muse of sorts, to help me. But it was me who had to answer all the questions about what it is that I wanted to share. She helped me some with what parts of it to say and in choosing images and creating a feeling that would welcome in those who want and need these offerings of the heart.
But, it was me showing up as authentically as possible, unfolding and expressing the story, that brought it all to life.
And it wasn't easy. It is vulnerable to be seen like this. Doubts arise. It raises more questions.
What will you/they/the world think of me? Who am I to be so out there?
Is this really something that someone wants or needs?
My insecurity raised it's dragon head more than once. I shed more than one tear and held myself tenderly, acknowledging the hard work of being fully present with the life of meaning that I desire. And I had to hold that question, "who am I to..." in the light so it wouldn't derail me and cause me to step back into the shadows with it.
Because I know that the only way for me to do my work, which is so fulfilling for me, is for people to know it's available. That it exists. That I exist. And that the offering is powerful. That there is the possibility that I not only want to support other humans in the awakening journey, but that I am fully present to the mystery of life revealing itself and the courage and self-love that is required to travel well.
And so, the new site. The new online home of HeartSong Yoga and Wellness Center and of The Sanctuary - my online virtual studio and the place where all the magic is currently happening. I present to you (same URL as before) www.yogaheartsong.com. Where, if you are reading this on my HeartBeats Musings, you have already landed - but do go take a look around if you haven’t already!
I offer to you these questions too.
Will you commit to keeping them alive in your mind and heart?
Will you allow them space? Bring them to the light?
Can you remain open to, and celebrate, the unfolding story of your life and hold dearly your worth and the importance of what you bring to the whole?
It is more important than you know. And I would love to hear more about what that is and who you are.
Leave me a comment and tell me!
